Much Ado About Nothing

What an amazing event we have been very lucky to host in the park this year.  SMP Theatre held a promenade performance of Much Ado About Nothing across 4 evenings to enthusiastic reviews and praise.  The weather was mostly dry and Saturday night was a sell out!  Bravo!

Yoga

Saffron returns to the park this summer with yoga sessions in the walled garden every Thursday morning at 10.30am - weather permitting.  Just come along, no need to book.

Fundraising update

Our fundraising is still underway for new equipment for the children's playground.  We have selected the piece of equipment that we think will most benefit the children in the park and we have the money to purchase it, but now just need the funds to install and maintain it.  So look out for further fundraising events!

March 2019

Poop Happens!

We were very proud of our friends at Muddy Mutley's who worked alongside Enfield Council to launch the Poop Happens campaign in the park in March.  The Poop Happens campaign is designed to keep our parks and open spaces clear of dog fouling by aiming to see dog owners take responsibility of picking up after their pets.  You can read more about the campaign on the Enfield Council website.

Shakespeare in the Park

We are so very excited to announce our big event in the summer of Shakespeare in the park!  The brilliant SMP will perform Much Ado About Nothing on 4 nights in June.  Tickets are available now, so get them while you can!

Happy birthday to us!

The 11th February 2019 marks the 10 year anniversary of the formation of the Friends of Bury Lodge.  This group continues to work hard to preserve the history of the park and make it a place for all the local community to continue to enjoy.  You can find out more about what the Friends have achieved on our History and Friends of Bury Lodge pages.

We are getting ready to begin our project to make over the rose beds.  If you have some free times and would like to get involved with this project and other park activities please drop us a note.

Goodbye Jo x

It is with a sad heart that we say goodbye to Joanne Howard, a regular user of the park and volunteer, who sadly died this week.  Jo spent many an hour in the park, she used to call it her place of solace from all her worries (a quiet refuge).  Jo will be sadly missed by her friends and all who knew her x

December 2018

What a fabulous year it has been in the park!  We have kicked off our fundraising for the playground; we have established an orchard; we have got silver again in the In Bloom awards but increased our scores to nearly get gold; we have had our first Halloween Spooktacular; and we have had some amazing support from local businesses Tessa Stevens and the Dance Studio sponsoring flower beds.  We thank everyone for their time, support and interest in our little park, and we can't wait to share with you the exciting things we have planned for 2019.

A Hell of a good time

Thank you to everyone that came to our first Halloween event and made it such a great success!  Although a little on the chilly side, everyone got into the spirit of the theme and we raised nearly £350 towards the playground fund.

London in Bloom - can you be part of a winning team?

Easter Egg Hunt

Thank you to everyone that came to our annual Easter egg hunt, at great afternoon was had by all.  We raised £1000 towards the renovation of the playground.

Refreshments coming soon

We have been able to raise money for hard standing to be put down on the field by the playground, this will allow room for an ice cream van to park up in the park to provide snacks.  So no more having to leave the park for a sneaky ice cream!

London in Bloom

We have entered 3 categories only this year, It's Your Neighbourhood, Small Parks and Walled Garden. We are currently doing all the heavy work to prepare for judging in June/mid-July.  If you fancy lending a hand on a Wednesday morning all help is welcome!
